Torunto Distance Team- Chris Bibby
Christopher Bibby –
“The Running Realtor”
He is not only one of the fastest road racers in Toronto. He sells Toronto condos better than most realtors!
Chris is a joy to work with. Eager to learn. Inspires others during training. And performs best when the heat is on!
He has got a fenomenal aerobic capacity from many years of competitive swimming. That is a great background for becoming a great runner. Now his supporting team is working on the next building block in his running career.
All Torunto Distance Team runners are being observed by a couple of trained eyes during a running gate analysis. Coach Jim pin points strengths and areas to improve. A bit funny parallel that could be made…. Both his Torunto coach Jim and his massage therapist see a parallel between Chris’ running form and a speedy Lamborghini street car with worn down shock absorbers.
This mis-match needs to be worked on to fascilitate life long running joy and performance enhancement. Improving core, strength, proper tension and timing will be one of the keys to improve the Lamborghini. It may sound technical, but that is why a runner has a team of specialists around.
How coach Jim wants to help Chris? By applying running analysis and personalized daily strength and reactivity training.
To train, to compete, and to achieve means different things to different people. Here is what this means to Chris.
OBJECTIVE
My goal for 2020 and 2021 would be regaining strength and running a personal best in a soon to come marathon. Timewise? Hopefully under 2:40! At the same time I want to explore my speed potential in shorter races.
Being part of Torunto Distance Team means I have access to coach Jim’s 30+ years of international distance running career and growing coaching career. This means my questions about strength improvement, more effective running, and how to best prepare myself to my goal race are safeguarded with his experience.
BIO Chris Bibby
Chris is a loyal and longtime member of the Toronto Harriers running community. Coach Jim has various coaching roles in Toronto and is currently serving the role as head coach of the Toronto Harriers. Running PB’s is one aspect of running. Adding lasting memories on the go is another aspect. I believe coach Jim are aware of that and helps me seeing the big picture as part of his coaching strategy.
Chris as a realtor
Christopher’s success as a condominium expert is based on keeping his clients best interests at heart and building long-term relationships of confidence and trust. In many ways coach Jim and the realtor Chris share this philosophy.
Achieving is a process more than a destination. Coach Jim helps Chris with both the big picture and the daily execution of training. Noticeable improvements boost runner’s confidence and trust. Sports achievements are also similar to business achievements in the sense that both achievements are not happening as a result of luck. Coach Jim and Chris both realize that great achievements take time, dedication and hard work. Just as building long-term relationships takes hard work.
As for a brief running history
I’ve been running a long time, many years casually. I slowly built up my competitive interest through swimming varsity in university where I enjoyed the team training. Running caught my interest later. I got my marathon debut in 2019. I hope most of my running performances are ahead of me!

Working with Coach Jim
After a year of training according to coach Jim’s philosophy, my running form and performance have certainly improved. I feel fit and really want to see what I can do when the pandemic is over.
