Olympic qualification, sub 2.35 marathon, Chicago Marathon, sub 35 minute 10 km…No lack of ambitions for the runners coach Jim is supporting on their way to succes. They have all proven themselves as runners and they have earned great respect in their local communities. Now they want to take their next step in their running career.

Currently, TORUNTO coach Jim is thrilled to be working with Brittany Moran, Jonas Charyk and Christofer Bibby who make up the TORUNTO Distance Team.

We will be posting regularly on their progression, on their challenges, how they train and secrets to succes, and also how they handle their training during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today we introduce Brittany Moran. Britt has been coached by coach Jim since the beginning of 2019 and what an amazing first year with TORUNTO Distance Team she had…a 2.36 marathon was an improvement of more than 4 minutes! Brittany about Jim’s coaching approach:

It has been successful to say the least!

Objective

My goal is to break 2:35 and get my marathon time as fast as I possibly can, while enjoying the journey!

BIO

I love to run.  When I am not running, I am helping others to run better through my work as a chiropractor and also as a run coach.  I am a chiropractor at The Runner’s Academy in Toronto ON Canada.  I am a Nike Toronto run coach.  And I also have my own run team I started in December 2018 called StrideWise.  Basically, my entire world is involved in running, and I would not have it any other way.

Running History

I have been a lifelong runner.  I first fell in love with the sport when I was in elementary school.  I quite enjoyed beating the boys at cross country practice and it has been a love affair ever since.  I ran cross country and track through high school and university.  At university I represented the University of Windsor Lancers.  When I graduated, I focused on my schooling while running on my own and increasing to the half marathon distance.  After I graduated, I trained on my own to the marathon distance debuting in a 2:56 and from there I decided to get coaching and have since improved my time by 20mins.  I have had two major injuries that have in turn been blessing allowing me to come back stronger.  I look forward to continuing to push my limits and see how fast I can get over the marathon distance.

I have been working with Coach Jim now for a year and within that time I have run 4:23 PB in the marathon, 3:30 PB in the half marathon and a 12s PB in the 10k.  It has been successful to say the least!  I have enjoyed it because the training has been different than training I have done in the past and therefore has helped me to find another gear!
